When IFRS Isn't Enough: Developing A Financial Reporting Framework For Non-Profit Organisations

IFR4NPO took part in leading an online session at Humentum’s first ever online conference, OpEx Africa on June 1 2020. Find out more about the OpEx Africa, online conference here.

This session explored the what and how of Project #IFR4NPO – developing the world’s first internationally applicable financial reporting guidance for non-profit Organisations.

Engaging with panelists from John Snow Inc (a financial statement preparer), Open Society Foundation (a financial statement user) and ICPAK (an accounting body), participants were encouraged to leave this session with a better understanding of why the world needs applicable guidance, and confident about the credibility and validity of the process and status of the guidance issued. Having discussed and shared their views from the perspective of different stakeholders, participants left aware of how to stay engaged, informed, and ensure their voices are heard as the project progresses.

Presenters:

Samantha Musoke, Project Director IFR4NPO, Humentum

Caroline Kariuki, Director of Finance & Administration, Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa

Innocent Masikati, Head of Business Development and Operations, JSI, South Africa
