Thomas Müller-Marqués Berger is an independent consultant with more than 30 years experience in accounting and auditing Not-for-Profit and public sector entities. Thomas acts as a member of several Technical Advisory Groups (such as for the World Bank and the European Commission) and works as a Short-Term Expert for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

Previously, he was an Audit Partner and the Global Leader for International Public Sector Accounting at Ernst & Young and contributed to standard setting for both sectors at international and national level for more than 20 years. He was a member of the IPSASB (International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board), before establishing and chairing the IPSASB Consultative Advisory Group. Within the German Institute of Chartered Accountants (IdW), Thomas is chair and member of various working groups dealing with accounting and auditing of NPO-specific entities, such as foundations, charities, and clubs.
