José Javier Miranda is a highly experienced Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of expertise in finance, risk management, internal audit, and financial statement audit. He has held various positions in the aeronautical, financial, construction, agricultural, and higher education sectors, both in the private and governmental domains.
In terms of professional associations, Javier serves as President of the Salvadoran Institute of Public Accountants from 2021-2025. He was also appointed as President of the Council of Professional Associations of El Salvador for the period 2023-2025. He currently sits on governing bodies in international bodies such as IFAC, AIC and CILEA.
In academia, he held the position of Proprietary Director of the Faculty of Economics at the University of El Salvador from 2019 to 2023. He is an active member of the AIC and served as the President of the Committee of Sponsoring Bodies from 2021 to 2023.
Javier represents the Salvadoran Institute of Public Accountants at the Governing Board of the AIC, the General Assembly of IFAC, and the General Assembly of CILEA. He is a university lecturer, teaching Public Accounting, Finance, Financial Administration, and Project Implementation Management. He also delivers lectures on various accounting and finance topics nationally and internationally.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Accounting, a Master’s Degree in Finance, and a Master’s Degree in Risk Management. He also possesses technical certifications in IFRS for SMEs, ISA’s, and the IESBA Code of Ethics.
José Javier Miranda is the IFR4NPO Country Champion for El Salvador. He actively supports the engagement of relevant stakeholders in the Country.
