Abdi has been involved in humanitarian work in organizations such as ICRC, UNHCR, and ADRA in Somalia for over twenty-nine years. He also advocates for people with disabilities, youth, and adolescent girls. His core responsibilities in his current role include setting and executing the organization’s strategy, allocating capital, and building and overseeing the executive team.
Over the years, Abdi has continuously honed his skills in capacity development activities on the subject of financial management, grant management, fundraising, project cycle management and project financial management.
He holds a degree in Accountancy and management from the Somali Institute of Development Administration and Management (SIDAM) in 1990.
